How do you ensure housemate compatibility?
True Ability will assess the individual needs and preferences of potential house mates as well as arrange meetings with participants before any service delivery agreement is signed. The arrangement has to be suitable for all parties involved. Choosing to live with someone outside of familial settings is a great step towards independence and can help with social and other independent skills building particularly for the first time living out of home.

Am I eligible for Supported Independent Living?
Have you currently got an NDIS plan in place or are you in the process of applying? SIL funding is for persons with disability who have a goal of living more independently, moving out of their family home and enjoying the extra freedoms to live their lives on their terms with the help of Support Workers for assistance with daily living and other aspects of care.
What if I’m already receiving supports from True Ability or other providers?
If you are currently receiving Supports, you may also be eligible for SIL, it will depend on the level of funding you receive from the NDIS. To find out more you can call the NDIS on 1800 800 110 and discuss your support needs, if having SIL accommodation will be suitable for you.
